Sandbridge Community Chapel UMC (Virginia Beach, VA)  is seeking a Director of Family Ministries to provide opportunities for families to grow in discipleship together.  We are a growing, multi-generational congregation with committed volunteers ministering to children and teens.  The Director of Family Ministries will oversee, empower and expand this team to reach new families more effectively.  Responsibilities include oversite of the current children’s ministry and Youth Surf Club volunteers, coordination of special events for families, and hands on development of a youth discipleship and mission ministry.  This is a salaried, 20 hr/wk position which requires presence at weekly Sunday worship.  A Bachelor’s Degree is required, with some children’s/youth ministry experience preferred.  Candidates must possess a strong faith in Jesus Christ, an ability to work with a team and a passion for sharing Jesus with children and youth.  Effective communication, organization and leadership are essential. A background check and completion of the Sandbridge Community Chapel Safe Sanctuary will be required.
